Comfort Keepers also make sure that clients stay on prescribed diets to prevent or control a wide variety of medical conditions like heart disease, high blood pressure, or diabetes.
Companionship and Conversation
Companionship is key for the mental, emotional, and physical well being of our clients. Comfort Keepers provide companionship through conversation, sharing meals, and other hobbies. They also encourage seniors to interact with others in their community and their age. This social contact has proven to enhance seniors’ health, happiness, and quality of life.
Many elderly people don't have the ability to shop for groceries and prepare a well-balanced meal. Comfort Keepers can help clients receive proper nutrition through preparing delicious meals based on the client's preference. Clients may help with meal preparation as their abilities permit, which can help make mealtimes more enjoyable as well.
Having clean laundry is important for everyone, including our aging seniors. Our Comfort Keepers can do laundry either at the client's home or at a laundry facility. They will wash, dry, fold, iron, and put clothing away. As always, we make sure that laundry is done according to the client's preferences.
We provide basic housekeeping as part of our in home care for seniors services that include most domestic tasks. This may include dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors, and cleanings kitchens or bathrooms. Often seniors are able to join their caregivers in housework, which can help them feel useful and needed. Please be aware that Comfort Keepers do not provide outdoor cleaning or maintenance services.
Comfort Keepers will shop for groceries and run errands like picking up prescriptions and going to the post office. Clients may choose to stay home or come along and help with the shopping and errands as an excellent way to stay active and engaged. Either way, you can rest assured that your senior's important errands are being run.
Our Comfort Keepers can provide transportation for clients. This allows them the freedom to go shopping, attend activities, get to medical appointments, go to the barbershop or beauty salon, or anywhere else they choose. Getting a senior out and about is good for their mind, body, and spirit.
Although Comfort Keepers provides non medical home care assistance and cannot administer medications, they can help make sure their clients take their own medications as prescribed. Our Comfort Keepers can assist with opening medication containers, reading labels, and reminding their clients when it is time to take a dose.
Depending on the client’s needs, Comfort Keepers can provide care for just a few hours a week or provide full-time, in home care for seniors. Through our 24-hour senior care service, a team of Comfort Keepers coordinates caregiving responsibilities in shifts. This offers clients and their families full-time peace of mind.
